October 2009 Statistical First Release on Post-16 Education & Skills: Learner participation, outcomes and Level of Highest Qualification held

This statistical first release (SFR) has been produced by the Data Service in consultation with statisticians from the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF). It provides information on learner participation and achievement for post-16 education in 2007/08, as well as updated data on learners in 2008/09. It also includes information from the Labour Force Survey on the level of highest qualification held in England, and information on vocational qualifications awarded in the United Kingdom.

PLEASE NOTE: Further supplementary tables for Tables 6&7 (Apprenticeships & Train to Gain) of the October SFR are published on 18th November. No further supplementary tables will be produced relating to the October SFR due to the use of provisional datasets and all tables will be updated again shortly with the publication of the December SFR.
