Statistical First Release December 2009


December 2009 Statistical First Release on Post-16 Education & Skills: Learner participation, outcomes and Level of Highest Qualification held


This Statistical First Release (SFR) has been produced by the Data Service in consultation with statisticians from the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF).

It provides information on learner participation and achievement for post-16 education in 2007/08, as well as updated data on learners in 2008/09.

It also includes information from the Labour Force Survey on the level of highest qualification held in England, and information on vocational qualifications awarded in the United Kingdom.

This SFR was re-issued on 21 January to include the provisional number of apprenticeship and Train to Gain starts and achievements for the first quarter of 2009/10.
