Changes made for 2009/2010

ESF data set DVs have been deleted.
New DVs added: A_FUNDINGSOURCE, L_FUNDINGSOURCE, A_NOTIONLEV, L_NOTIONLEV, A_QCF, L_QCF, EFY funding DVs and L_UPLF910.
Existing derivations from funding calculations are now formally specified within this document. Previously, their derivations were implied from comments attached to the MI Views specification. These are marked as ‘Defined’ in the list of DVs.
DVs from the funding calculations that have individual values for each period are NO LONGER BLANKED for periods beyond the ‘current period’. The existing ‘Y2D’ versions show values up to the current period. The new ‘EFY’ (Expected Full Year) versions show values totalled for all periods.
Coding of null values is now part of the individual variables’ specifications, rather than a separate generic section.

A_TTGAIN updated to exclude Employability Skills Programmes.
A_ATYPE updated to replace NVQLEV with NOTIONLEV.
L_A23 updated to replace NVQLEV with NOTIONLEV.
Removed A06 from L_FUND.

Translation of Analytical LAD field names to oracle LAD database field names added to source data sections of the following:

Corrected UPLIFT source data (in L_UPLFx) from Analytical LAD to Postcode file.
Changed behaviour of L_A23 for LR – now takes the latest A27 rather than using ‘DP MIX’.
Variables derived from funding calculation outputs have a note explaining they are required for entitlement aims.
Typeface corrected in several places. Not marked.
The ‘go to’ in Step 1 of the A_QCF definition corrected to ‘Goto 2’.
In nine funding-related derived variables, the description of entitlement aims was incorrectly stated as ‘where A10=99’. They are now corrected to ‘where A05=99’.
L_IL_P1 to L_IL_P12 code table incorrectly compared with L_ACTIVE. Corrected to a compare with A_ACTIVE.
The relevant collections of the following derived variables have been reduced to just ILR(LR) and ILR(ER) :

A_IL_P1 to A_IL_P12 is now calculated for all collections.
The PERIOD definition now relates current period to the filename of the collection.
Definitions of A_E2E_BONUS_SLN_ and A_E2E_PROG_SLN_ have been corrected and an inappropriate ER collection to period table has been removed.
A/L/P_IY_SLN_PAYMENT definition clarified. Now defined from funding calculation fields.
A/L/P_TO_DATE_SLN_PAYMENT definition includes the ‘source data’ details, and the definition has been updated.
L_IY_SLN_PAYMENT SPSS code updated to be -1 where L_ACTIVE is 0.
A/L_SLN_PAYMENT_Y2D deleted, as it was a direct copy of the A/L_IY_SLN_PAYMENT variables.
Descriptions of A/L_INYR_EXPECTED_GLH and L_FRANCH corrected.
