Purpose
2 Identifies classification of the aim according to the Adult Learning Inspectorate (ALI) 14 Areas of Learning (AoL) (Note: these have been superseded by Sector Subject Areas).

5 Assigns the value for Area of Learning in the LAD to each aim that is in the aims standard files. Where the AoL is missing in the LAD, the value 99 is used.
