UK Register of Learning Providers (UKRLP) Definition

DEFINITION

1. The UK Register of Learning Providers (UKRLP) is a national database of information held about providers that can be accessed across the further and higher education sector.

DESCRIPTION

2. The register opened in August 2005 and now contains records of over 20,000 providers. The Provider Information Management Service (PIMS) holds records of all providers contracted by the LSC, and in 2006, this database was linked to the UKRLP. This enables some of the information from the UKRLP to be automatically updated into PIMS.

3. Providers register with UKRLP via the website and are required to update their own details.

4. Agencies accessing the register include the LSC, the Careers Advice Service, the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) and the Universities and Colleges Admissions Services (UCAS).
