1. The Provider Information Management System (PIMS) is a core LSC system, used to store definitive details of providers.

2. Details stored include:

• Unique Provider Identification Number (UPIN)
• Addresses
• Contacts
• Groupings and memberships
• Funding
• Pre-defined codes which define the Data Collection method

3. The data is used by many other systems and purposes including contracts and arrangements, funding through the Allocations Management and Payments System (AMPS) , use of on-line data capture systems and reporting through Crystal and SPSS.
