DEFINITION

1. Sector Subject Areas are classifications of business areas as determined by the Qualification and Curriculum Authority (QCA).

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

2. Sector Subject Areas enable the classification of particular subjects in two tiers.

3. Tier 1 is a broad grouping of values for example:

• 1: Health, Public Services and Care

4. Tier 2 is a more precise classification level with an additional 50+ values for example:

• 1.1: Medicine and Dentistry

5. Sector Subject Areas have superseded 'Areas of Learning'.
