Definition

Sector Subject Areas are determined by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA). They enable classification of the subject of an aim at tier 1 or tier 2 level.

Tier 1 is a broad grouping of 15 different values (and unknown), for example '1: Health, Public Services and Care'.

Tier 2 is a deeper grouping below tier 1, with an additional 50 values, for example '1.1: Medicine and Dentistry'.
