National Qualifications Framework Business Definition

DEFINITION

1. This framework sets out levels at which qualifications can be recognised enabling learners to make comparisons between different types of qualifications and even with Higher Education (HE) qualifications. Until 2006, the framework consisted of five levels. From January 2006, though levels 1 to 3 stayed the same, levels 4 and 5 were replaced with levels 1 to 8.
