Full Time Equivalent Business Definition
DEFINITION
1. A Full Time Equivalent (FTE) is a learner studying a programme of a minimum of 450 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) in a funded year.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
2. A learner studying a programme of less than 450 GLH will be converted into a fraction of a Full Time Equivalent by dividing the planned GLH of the programme by 450. In this case, the learners FTE and Standard Learner Number (SLN) values will be the same.
3. In Employer Responsive learning, FTE workers are defined as having a minimum of 35 standard contracted working hours per week. Anyone who works full time for the business year should be treated as one FTE. Part time, seasonal and those who only work for part of the year should be treated as a fraction of one FTE.
