Direct, Partnership and Franchised Provision Business Definition

DEFINITION

1. Provision is delivered either directly by the provider, in partnership or it is franchised to a third party.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

2. Direct Provision is where the provision is totally delivered by the provider.

3. Partnership Provision is where one or more aspects of the learning programme are delivered in partnership with a third party.

4. Franchised Provision, a subdivision of partnership provision, is generally where the teaching of learners is carried out by a partner.

5. The precise rules for determining whether provision is considered to be direct, partnership or franchised are detailed in table 7 of the funding guidance for Further Education 2004/05 (Pub. ref. LSC/AA000/1036/04)

6. Note: From 2008 / 2009, the term Partner Provider is generally used to describe partners, franchised partners and any other provider that is not directly funded by the LSC.
