Individualised Learner Record

Data Validation, Data Standards and Known Issues

The collection of Individualised Learner Record (ILR) data takes place within a quality assurance framework and to a schedule set down by the information authority. All ILR collections undergo validation in accordance with information authority validation rules and data standards.

The Data Service works closely with the information authority on the continuous development of data validation, credibility checking and data quality processes. Reports on sector achievement and progress against data quality standards are publicly available in the form of ILR quality assessments.

Audits of known issues for ILR datasets are publicly available.

Reports and Tools

Pre- and post data submission reports and tools are available to support timely, accurate and complete ILR data submissions. Reports on Provider achievement and progress against standards are shared with the information authority as part of the Data Service’s Data Quality Outreach programme.

Should you have any queries on ILR data please contact the Service Desk.
