Data Quality
The Data Service is committed to delivering and demonstrating excellence in the collection, transformation and dissemination of high quality learner and funding data.
The collection of Individualised Learner Record (ILR) data from providers takes place within a quality framework to a schedule set by
the information authority. All ILR data undergoes collection validation in accordance with
information authority validation rules and
data standards.
As part of the quality framework, rule violation and
credibility reports are made available to data providers and shared with
the information authority.
The quality of each data return from providers undergoes a quality assessment against
information authority data quality standards. Working on behalf of
the information authority, the Data Service monitors sector performance against standards, and makes the results publicly available in the form of
ILR Quality Assessments.
Audits of
known issues for ILR datasets are also publicly available.
The Data Service works closely with the
information authority on the continuous development of data validation, credibility checking and data quality processes. Should you have any queries on ILR data quality please
contact the Service Desk.
