Learner Information Suite 18.01 software
Overview
The Learner Information Suite (LIS) software is a software application which is made available to providers to assist in preparation of ILR data. Version 18.01 processes 2010/11 ILR data and contains functionality for ILR Validation, Funding calculations (Employer Responsive) and reports.
Installation
LIS 18.01 requires Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 to run. If your PC environment does not have this, you will need to download (from the table below) and install it before running the LIS 18.01 installation. If you have previously installed LIS series 17 then .NET framework will already exist.
Next Release
We plan to release LIS 18.02 in September 2010. The next version will include the Learner Responsive funding calculation and more reports.

This zip file contains the Large Employer discount factors for 2010/11 as described in Guidance note 3, paragraph 29.
In the zip file are two files;
- One is the Large Employer Factors data .mdb which has the fields: Employer Numbers (ERN) and Discount Factors, this is to be imported into the LIS 18.01.
- The other file is a single field text file containing only the Employer Numbers (ERN) field of the same data, none of the accompanying factors are shown in this file. This file should not be imported into the LIS. |

To apply a Data update file to the LIS, you should download and unzip the file. Within the LIS, select 'Options' then on the 'Maintenance' tab select 'Update Data' and specify the location of the unzipped update file.
To import the Postcode data file into the LIS, you should download and unzip the file. Within the LIS, select 'Options' and in the portion of the screen dedicated to Postcode factors select 'Change' and specify the location of the unzipped update file.
To import the Employer Data file into the LIS, you should download and unzip the file. Within the LIS, select 'Options' and in the portion of the screen dedicated to Employer Data select 'Change' and specify the location of the unzipped update file.
