11/002 LARA Table and Field definitions 2011/12
As part of the enhancements to the Data Service data collection systems, the Learning Aim Database (LAD) is to be replaced by the Learning Aim Reference Application (LARA).
LARA will be the repository for learning aims from 2011/12 onwards, and any data that is not relevant for the 2011/12 collection will be removed.
The Data Service has published a draft only version of the LARA Table and Field definitions for 2011/12.
This document is intended for software suppliers and providers who write their own software. It gives notification of the full set of tables that will be available in LARA download data for 2011/12.
Data for the academic years 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 is still available on the current LAD download functionality and there will be NO changes made to these data structures.
This document illustrates the information that will be available in LARA download for the academic year 2011/2012. This includes:
· Tables that are NEW compared with the existing LAD download. To assist in understanding where these tables fit within the schema, two simple diagrams have been included within the document for Learning Aims and Frameworks.
· Tables that were contained on the LAD download and have been retained within the proposed LARA download. Please note that some of these tables may have had fields added to them while others may have had fields removed.
· Tables that will NOT exist within the LARA download compared to the LAD download.
Please note this is a draft only version and the Data Service will shortly be publishing a date for when the final document will be available.
