R04 and 2010/11 End of year Qualification Success Rates
In order to accurately calculate 2010/11 timely qualification success rates the Data Service must include 2011/12 ILR data for the period 90 days beyond the end of the 2010/11 teaching year.
The information authority has agreed a 2011/12 ILR collection timetable, which is different to that for previous years, to reflect the move to a single ILR. In this changed timetable the first time an FE college needs to send an ILR containing data for all its learners is R04. Consequently the first time complete data for the first 90 days of 2011/12 is available is at R04. The Data Service will generate a qualification success rate using the R04 collection.
There is no change to the methodology used to produce the success rates as the 90 day threshold beyond the end of the academic year remains the same. This does not have any impact on the 2010/11 overall success rate calculation or results.
