Steering Group will shape the service
A Data Service Steering Group comprising senior representatives from across the further education sector met for the first time this month to discuss the role it will play in shaping the development of products and services as the new organisation evolves.
Among those represented at the inaugural meeting in Coventry were DIUS; DCSF; LSC; the information authority; ALP; AoC; HESA; HEFCE; Ofsted; Ofqual; HOLEX and MIAP.
The group agreed that its main role would be to provide sector representatives with the opportunity to:
· Provide feedback on the performance of the Data Service on behalf of their communities
· Shape the development of the service’s strategy and influence its priorities
· Make proposals and recommendations on its products and services
· Network with Data Service senior management
Rich Williams, Head of the Data Service, described the meeting as a big success. “It was a very impressive turn-out and I was delighted with the enthusiasm shown for the new service by everyone who attended. I look forward to working with the group in shaping a service that will meet the needs of the sector as a whole.”
