5. If the aggregate actual figure for a field is greater than the Information Authority data standard (i.e., tolerance) for that field, does this mean that the aggregate data is below information authority data standards?

 

Question 1 : What are quality assessments?

Answer : Quality assessments present the results of completeness checks on selected fields against data standards for providers published by the information authority
 ILR 2009/10 Appendix P) . The assessments include results for:

Question 2 : Are quality assessments available for LSC scheduled ILR Standard Aims Files, or for Data Service Derived Variables?

Answer : No. Quality assessments are currently available for the following 2009/10 ILR Learner Files only:

  • Employer Responsive
  • Learner Responsive
  • Adult Safeguarded Learning
  • ESF Short Record

The Data Service is working with the information authority to extend the range and type of data standards for ILR datasets.

Question 3 : Will the Data Service be producing quality assessments for datasets other than LSC scheduled Standard Files?

Answer : Currently, there are no plans to publish quality assessments for non-ILR datasets.

Question 4 : When do you make quality assessments available?

Answer : We aim to make quality assessments available within 5 business days of LSC scheduled Standard File ILR publication.

Question 5.
If the aggregate actual figure for a field is greater than the Information Authority data standard (i.e., tolerance) for that field, does this mean that the aggregate data is below information authority data standards?

Answer : No. Information Authority data standards are set at provider level. National or provider type data standards are not currently available.
