Governance

The governance of the Data Service is led by the further education sector, with strategy and policy direction provided by a governance board comprising of representatives from further education organisations and from the information authority.

Our performance is monitored through an independent Steering Group and we conform to data collection standards set by the information authority.

National data sets for further education are produced and published under the governance of and as an agent for the National Statistician.

A governance model for all of the services provided by Information Management Services is being developed in conjunction with CEOs designate of the Skills Funding Agency and Young People’s Learning Agency. These governance arrangements will complement the existing customer scrutiny groups and boards which oversee the work of the Data Service.
